The compact SUV has only had its exterior design tweaked, but there are some new things inside too. It is assumed that the SUV will be offered with the same technology, and later it will have an electrified brother.
The Changan CS55 crossover has been produced since 2017; in 2019, a large-scale restyling was carried out in its homeland, and at the same time the five-door received the Plus prefix. The model entered the second generation in 2021, retaining the “surname”. Well, now the CS55 Plus has been improved again: Changan itself declared this cross to be the third generation, although it is still a modernization, and there are not so many new things. By the way, the company often calls its modernized machines the next generation: the Chinese did the same with the CS75 Plus and Uni-T.

So, the CS55 Plus has a new radiator grille — it is now frameless, in the style of the Uni line models. The bumpers also became different, in addition, instead of trapezoidal overlays at the rear, exposed round pipes of the exhaust system appeared (they are not visible in the company pictures, but local media have already snapped off the restyled crosses from dealers). The SUV also got different wheels.

According to preliminary data, the length of the Plus has increased by 24 mm to 4539 mm. The remaining dimensions have not changed: width – 1865 mm, height – 1680 mm, wheelbase – 2656 mm.
The most significant new thing in the cabin is a narrow touch strip located under the central air deflectors, on which control of the “climate” and other functions are located (the previous Plus had physical buttons). Well, the new cup holders on the tunnel were covered with a sliding section.

The manufacturer has not yet spoken about the technology. Chinese specialized media write that the reform did not affect the engine: we are talking about a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 188 hp. (300 Nm), which is still combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. The crossover only comes with front-wheel drive.
The restyled Changan CS55 Plus will make its full premiere on September 15. And later a rechargeable hybrid with its own design will debut, however, this “fifty-fifth” will be sold under a different brand – Qiyuan.

According to the price list, a newer SUV today costs from 2,629,900 rubles, a model of the previous generation will cost at least 2,189,900 rubles (prices are indicated without special offers).
