Toyota GR86 for the domestic market received its share of new things for the 2024 model year, including a special version of the 40th Anniversary Limited.
The current second-generation Subaru BRZ sports car debuted in the fall of 2020, and in July 2023, a version intended for the American market with the addition of tS, developed by the motorsport division STI (Subaru Tecnica International), was presented. Let us remind you that the first generation coupe also had an option with the same name, and it was released in a limited edition, but the current tS has no restrictions on the edition.
Now Subaru has brought the BRZ to the domestic market until the 2024 model year and talked about what changes the refreshed coupe has received. Thus, two-door vehicles with a manual transmission now have access to the EyeSight driver assistant system (previously only available to automatic versions). Also on the list of differences are new 17-inch tires available for the BRZ R.
The main update of the sports car for the Japanese market was the appearance of a new “hot” version of the Subaru BRZ STI Sport. In many ways, this option repeats the tS version, which was introduced for the US market last summer. Prepared by the STI division, the chassis has been modified: the suspension has lightweight shock absorbers, providing the coupe with more precise handling. The model was also equipped with Brembo brakes with gold-colored calipers and black 18-inch wheels. There are four-piston calipers at the front (diameter 325 mm), and two-piston calipers at the rear (315 mm). The wheels are shod with Michelin tires of size 215/40 R18.
Visually, the “charged” version can also be distinguished by the black exterior mirror housings and the same “shark fin” antenna «, the Subaru BRZ STI Sport also has a red nameplate indicating a sporty design, located on the radiator grille. The optics are completely LED. The interior received a contrasting red-burgundy trim with red stitching and a number of decorative metal inserts.
The engine of the sport version of the two-door is standard, so under the hood of the BRZ STI Sport version there is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer with output of 235 hp, maximum torque – 250 Nm. This engine is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic.

“Live” The 2024 Subaru BRZ will make its domestic debut on September 24 at Fuji Speedway. Now dealers in Japan are already accepting orders for the refreshed coupe, the starting price is 3,300,000 yen. The STI Sport manual starts at 3,762,000 yen and the automatic starts at 3,817,000 yen.

Twin Subaru BRZ – Toyota GR86 – also received its share of updates on the home market for the 2024 model year, including the EyeSight complex, which is also standard on manual versions. The main innovation here was the appearance of a limited special version of the 40th Anniversary: in this way the company decided to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the appearance of the “ancestor” of the sports car — the AE86.
Such a car will receive either white or red body color, and the interior will be equipped with a distinctive emblem and decor. Sachs shock absorbers and Brembo ventilated disc brakes are optional. How many copies will be included in the circulation is still unknown. You can buy the anniversary version of the two-door for a minimum of 3,822,000 yen with a manual transmission or 3,920,000 yen with an automatic transmission.
