The eleventh generation Accord will hit the home market next spring, while it is already on sale in the US and China.
The USA and China are the main markets for the Honda Accord today, but the dynamics of its sales in these markets are multidirectional. In the USA, where the “eleventh” Accord made its world premiere in November last year, the change of generations was beneficial, sales went up: from January to August, 135,379 copies of this model were sold, which is 36.3% more than what was sold for the same model period 2022. In China, Accord, on the contrary, is losing ground: 109,731 units were sold in January-August 2023. (-21.8%). The sister Inspire sedan, produced in China by the Dongfeng Honda joint venture, is also losing audience: in the first eight months of this year, it sold 32,818 units. (-21.8%).

In its native Japan, the Accord has long become a niche model, its sales here are very modest (about 2,000 units per year) and unstable: the “tenth” Accord left the Japanese market ahead of schedule, last fall, and the “eleventh” will go on sale only in the spring of 2024 , but recently the new model was announced on Honda's Japanese consumer website.
So, in Japan the new Accord will only be offered with the new generation e:HEV hybrid powertrain, while in China the Accord and Inspire sedans also have plug-in hybrid versions. The technical characteristics of the Japanese hybrid Accord have not yet been disclosed — perhaps they are the same as the American one, the power plant of which consists of an Atkinson cycle 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine and an electromechanical variator in which two electric motors are implanted. The maximum total output of such a power plant is 207 hp. and 335 Nm, front-wheel drive only.

The interior of the new Japanese Accord is the same as the Chinese one, only, of course, right-hand drive: a 10.2-inch virtual instrument panel is complemented by an 11.5-inch projection screen, the multimedia screen has a diagonal of 12.3 inches . Under the multimedia screen there is a sophisticated universal remote control with a rotating washer and a screen built into it — through this remote control you can set the microclimate, audio system and interior lighting settings. The American Accord has a standard climate control unit with three rotating knobs installed in the same place.
