Jaguar is preparing a luxury electric car with a range of more than 600 km

The legendary British company, thanks to the support provided by Jaguar Land Rover, now simply JLR, has developed a strategic plan. A roadmap whose ultimate goal is nothing less than making Jaguar an electric vehicle brand. And all this will happen by 2025.

If everything goes according to plan, Jaguar will become an electric vehicle brand from 2025. The company gave itself very little time. Moreover, if you take into account the current model range of the brand. So, today the brand has the only electric car — Jaguar I-Pace. It's logical that this will change. On the agenda — launching a whole series of new models to achieve this goal.

All new models introduced by Jaguar from the aforementioned 2025 will be fully electric. And, as the company itself has confirmed, by 2030, all cars that make up the Jaguar lineup will be available with an electric powertrain. That's why we stand on the cusp of a revolution that will forever change one of the most exciting names in British motoring.

A few years ago, before the so-called «Reinvention Plan» was launched, the brand was working on none other than the electric Jaguar XJ. A project that, unfortunately, was cancelled. However, this does not mean that there is no room in Jaguar's future (electric) for a car with the kind of performance that could cause trouble for other premium automakers.

According to information held specialized media, Jaguar is preparing a luxury electric car, with the help of which it can compete with the Mercedes EQS and Tesla Model S. The car is conceived as a four-seater GT (Gran Turismo).

This new electric car, whose name is unknown, is not intended to be a direct replacement for the aforementioned XJ. However, its appearance on the market will mean the final disappearance of the XJ as we know it. Technical information about this electric future Jaguar is quite sparse. Now there are some details that allow us to get a rough idea of ​​the new product. Thus, the model’s power reserve will be at least 620 kilometers. It will also be equipped with advanced ultra-fast charging technology that will complete the charging process in just 13 minutes.

It will be powered by two electric motors, one per axle. Thanks to this, it will have all-wheel drive and, which is no less important from the point of view of maneuverability, it will also have a steering rear axle. This will be crucial so that, despite the fact that this is a vehicle whose length will exceed five meters, it can easily navigate narrow city streets.
