Nepal batsman Dipendra Singh Airi hit the fastest fifty of the game and needed just nine deliveries to reach the mark against Mongolia.
Airey hit his first six balls from six and scored 36 runs in just six innings. He then hit his seventh ball from two and then scored the next two from six to reach his half-century in nine balls: a «perfect 50». With two in the last ball of the innings, Airey finished with 52 not out on 10 balls.
His innings broke the previous world record of 50 in a Twenty20 match — the 12 balls Yuvraj Singh needed. , Chris Gayle and Hazratullah Zazai. Yuvraj's innings against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup included six consecutive sixes from Stuart Broad.
