Rising is the youngest subsidiary brand of SAIC, it so far has only two models, the Rising R7 crossover and the Rising F7 liftback, both will arrive to our country with a twin-engine power plant with a capacity of 544 hp.
The Chinese state-owned automaker SAIC today has two premium electric vehicle brands – IM and Rising. IM (Intelligence in Motion) was created in 2020 in partnership with the IT giant Alibaba Group and the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech technology park in Shanghai, but Rising is fully owned by SAIC and is, in fact, its flagship brand – a showcase of advanced achievements. Rising was launched in 2021, growing out of the R sub-brand originally created under the Roewe brand. The first two Rising models, the ER6 sedan and the Marvel R crossover, were restyled Roewe i6 and Roewe Marvel X electric trains, respectively; they have already been discontinued from sale, they were replaced by completely original models on a new platform – the Rising R7 crossover and the Rising F7 liftback .
Rising R7
The Rising R7 debuted last year; it is a mid-size coupe-shaped SUV, its overall length is 4900 mm, width – 1925 mm, height – 1655 mm, wheelbase – 2950 mm. Artificial vision organs (including the Luminar lidar) necessary for the operation of electronic driver assistants and the Rising Pilot autopilot are seamlessly integrated into the body; the aerodynamic drag coefficient cx is only 0.238. Suspension – spring, front – double wishbone, rear – multi-link.
Rising R7
The Rising R7 salon sports a 43-inch three-screen display in the spirit of the Mercedes MBUX Hyperscreen, and there is also an augmented reality projector for the windshield glass The standard Bose audio system has 14 speakers. Trunk volume – 491 l, with the rear seat backs folded – 1471 l.
Rising R7
The basic version of the Rising R7 is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle (340 hp, 450 Nm) and a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, a full charge of which is enough for 551 km of range under the CLTC cycle. The top all-wheel drive version has a second electric motor on the front axle (204 hp, 250 Nm), the maximum total output of the power plant reaches 544 hp. and 700 Nm, battery capacity – 90 kWh, range on one charge – 606 km. The twin-engine Rising R7 reaches the first hundred in 3.8 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h.
Rising F7
The Rising F7 liftback, which entered the Chinese market this spring, replicates its sister crossover in terms of technology and interior design, but the liftback is longer, wider and lower: overall length – 5000 mm, width – 1953 mm, height – 1494 mm, wheelbase – 3000 mm. The batteries and power plants are the same as the crossover. The twin-engine Rising F7 accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and can travel 600 km on a single charge. Aerodynamic drag coefficient cx = 0.206. Trunk volume – 466 l.
Rising F7
In Russia, the sale of Rising electric vehicles will be carried out by Electrocars, It has entered into an agreement for the direct supply of these cars from China; in November, the first batch will appear in showrooms located in Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg. In the future, Electrocars plans to open car dealerships in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. Ruble prices for the Rising R7 and Rising F7 have not yet been announced, but it is clear that it will be very expensive, especially since Electrocars announced only twin-engine versions of these models.

In China, by the way, Rising’s sales are still quite modest: from January to August of this year, less than eleven thousand cars were sold. The Rising brand has not yet officially entered foreign markets.
