Sir Keir Starmer refuses to suspend as an MP who supported a campaign group that responded to the Hamas attack by launching a protest against the Israeli embassy.

Greg Hands, the Tory chairman, wrote to Anneliese Dodds, his Labor Party colleague, saying: “The Jewish community has expressed legitimate concerns about anti- — Semitism within the party in the past.
“Failure to take immediate and decisive action against a Labor MP associated with an organization known for its anti-Semitic rhetoric risks further eroding trust and support within this community.
“I urge you to take swift action and suspend MP in question and remove the PCS from the Labor conference.»
But a spokesman for the Labor leader said Ms Begum would not face any disciplinary action because the PSC was not a banned organisation.
The refusal came despite Sir Keir vowing to clean up the party after the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) found that Jewish people had been wrongfully persecuted under his far-left predecessor, Mr Corbyn.

It was Hamas terrorists who applauded the murder of hundreds of civilians at a pro-Corbyn event on the sidelines of the party's conference in Liverpool.
More than 100 people attended The World Transformed event, a conference organized by Momentum in 2016 and which takes place alongside the Labor Party meeting.
Yasmine Elsuda, a member of the Palestinian Youth Movement, told the audience that Palestinians who died in the conflict were “martyrs.”
“I am honored to speak at such a historical moment, especially during my lifetime, in our struggle,” she said.
“Yesterday, more than 230 of our brothers and sisters… were martyred at the hands of the Zionist entity.< /p>
“The current Zionist government is unequivocally calling for genocide, another Nakba. Channel 4 News asked Corbyn on Sunday if he condemned Hamas for the attacks. He has repeatedly refused to do so, saying only that “it is clear that all the attacks are wrong.”
The Labor Party leader’s spokesman said: “That is why Keir Starmer is determined to change the Labor Party.< /p>< p>“The party is unrecognizable to the one that the public rejected in 2019, and we will never go back.”
Meanwhile, a Palestinian diplomat, who was due to speak alongside David Lammy, the shadow foreign secretary, at a side event on Monday, said the killing of at least 250 Israeli civilians by Hamas was «coming closer».
Hussam Zomlot, head of the Palestinian mission in the United Kingdom, is set to appear with Mr Lammy at Labour's Friends of Palestine annual reception.
“What is more tragic or equally tragic is the blindness and deafness to the world and the international community for so many years, about the warnings that we said that this would happen. Israel knew this would happen… This is the consequence,” he said.

Ms Begum, MP for Poplar and Limehouse in east London, received a «special thank you» from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) on Twitter for showing «solidarity» with their cause.
The group met at the party meeting conference on Saturday, campaigning to demand that Labor oppose a forthcoming government bill that would make it illegal for UK public bodies such as councils to boycott Israeli goods.
Earlier on Saturday, the PSC announced an «emergency demonstration» for Sunday evening outside the Israeli embassy in London.
The planned protest, supported by other far-left groups, aimed to «demand that Israel end its forced imposition of… occupation » , apartheid and the colonization of the Palestinian people.»
The group said Saturday's bloodshed was not caused by Palestinian terrorists, but by the actions of Israel itself.
Alex Hearn, Labor Party spokesman against antisemitism, said: «It is unbelievable that on the same day that Israeli civilians, including children and the elderly, were brutally murdered, raped and kidnapped, Apsana Begum saw fit to publicly support the hate group Palestine Solidarity Campaign » (PSC).
“How can the UK's small Jewish community ever feel safe within the Labor Party if they continue to tolerate the toxic PSC and the MP who supports them? The PSC must be banned and Begum must have the whip removed along with any other MP who supports them.»
A spokesman for Sir Keir said on Sunday: “The PSC is not a banned organisation. I am not aware of Apsana saying anything about Hamas attacking Israel.”
The official position of the Labor Party is to condemn the attacks. Sir Keir condemned the “horrific” atrocities and what he called “acts of terrorism.”
Mr Lammy told a side event on Sunday: “I don’t mince my words. I am a lawyer by profession. Hamas is a terrorist organization.”
Suella Braverman, the home secretary, warned that the “full force of the law” would be used against those who support Hamas or “intimidate” Jews in Britain.
It comes after the Metropolitan Police stepped up «calm» patrols in London and images were posted on social media of people waving Palestinian flags and celebrating a Hamas rally in the city.
