As part of the Japan Mobility Show 2023 exhibition that opened today in Tokyo, Nissan showed five concepts foreshadowing serial new products, the central one among them was electric supercar Hyper Force: it shows what the long-awaited next-generation Nissan GT-R could be.
The current R35 generation Nissan GT-R has been in production since 2007 — it is a real market veteran, rumors about a successor to which have been circulating in the automotive media for seven years now, but there is still no successor. At the beginning of this year, the GT-R R35 underwent another restyling, after which it became clear that a new generation should not be expected in the coming years. The Nissan Hyper Force, as well as the four other concepts presented today — Hyper Adventure, Hyper Punk, Hyper Tourer and Hyper Urban — is a harbinger of the production model, but it will appear in the rather distant future, towards the end of the current decade.

The appearance of Hyper Force resembles the features of the current GT-R R35 — the similarity is especially noticeable when looking at the rear, but in general Hyper Force is much bolder and more avant-garde, as befits a concept; the shape of the front generally resembles Darth Vader’s mask from Star Wars. The body of the Hyper Force is entirely carbon fiber, with active aerodynamic elements integrated into its flat outer edges, including retractable side canards on the front end and ventilation gills above the front wheels. Huge wheels with aerodynamic flaps are also made of carbon fiber.

The Hyper Force's powertrain is all-electric, but Nissan hasn't said exactly how much of it is powered by an electric motor, only the maximum combined output is 1,000 kW (1,360 hp). The Hyper Force has a solid-state battery; Nissan plans to launch mass production of such batteries by 2028, but this, of course, is not certain, because for now solid-state batteries remain the Holy Grail of the global auto industry, promising to radically improve the technical characteristics of electric vehicles.
1/2 2/2The graphics of the multimedia system of the R35 generation Nissan GT-R, as is known, were developed jointly with Polyphony Digital, famous for the Gran Turismo series of computer games. The collaboration between Polyphony Digital and Nissan continued with the development of the Hyper Force, only now it is much broader, as the concept's interior is literally littered with monitors. The front panel consists of movable monitor blocks, the position of which changes depending on the selected driving mode. There are two such modes — a touring GT with blue backlight and a racing R with red backlight.

The position of the steering wheel, pedal assembly and four screens around the steering column also changes depending on the selected mode. In R mode, the overall picture becomes more fragmented, gaps appear between the screens, each block is responsible for its own segment of the information flow, the pilot’s eyes must instantly find it.
In GT mode, you can turn on the autopilot and Enjoy entertainment content on the central central screen. In static conditions, Hyper Force can be used as a driver's skill simulator; a virtual reality helmet is provided for this — we put it on and drive it, sitting in the car, in the same Gran Turismo. We have no doubt that Nissan Hyper Force will be included in one of the upcoming updates to this game.

Nissan will carefully study the public's reaction to the Hyper Force and may adjust the design of the supercar as it approaches mass production, only the decision to convert the GT-R to electric power will remain unchanged — as they say, it’s either one way or nothing.
