The athlete was finished off when he was already lying down
Details of the shooting of 24-year-old master of sports in Greco-Roman wrestling Azamat Kairov near a fast food restaurant on Volgogradsky Prospekt in Moscow have become known. A group of Chechens began to insult athletes.
As MK managed to find out, on the night of February 9-10, the wrestlers returned from Ufa, where the Russian championship was held. Four athletes, among whom was Azamat, took a taxi at the airport and went to the sports school. Driving along Volgogradsky Prospect at about 2.30, the guys decided to have a snack, for which they asked the driver to stop near a fast food restaurant. Azamat and his 23-year-old colleague got out of the car and headed inside to place an order. There were about 15 people crowding near the entrance. One of them asked the wrestlers for a light, but he was calmly told that athletes do not smoke. Then one of the company began to insult Azamat, hinting that they were bad athletes since they did not smoke or drink. Kairov understood a little Chechen, so he asked to avoid insults.
A verbal altercation ensued, which escalated into a fight. Azamat was knocked down and began to be beaten — it was difficult to resist a large company. At the same time, Azamat’s friends, who were waiting in the car, ran to the rescue and tried to calm everyone down. And it seemed like the fight was over, but then one of the instigators suddenly pulled out a pistol and pointed it towards the athletes. The friends decided it was better to run away, but the criminal started shooting and hit Kairov twice. The athlete fell, after which 5-6 people began to beat him again. After delivering several more blows to the prone man, the company retreated. Kairov managed to call an ambulance and the police himself, after which the athlete was urgently hospitalized. The wrestler was diagnosed with two gunshot wounds in the back and underwent surgery to remove rubber bullets — now his health and life are not in danger.
The police began an investigation into the fact of the fight and the infliction of gunshot wounds to the athlete.
