In its main market, the four-door will be available exclusively as an HEV hybrid. The model will go on sale next year.
On the eve of the opening of the Los Angeles Auto Show, the American division of Toyota declassified the new Camry sedan. Let us remember that the States are the main market for the model; it was there that the world premiere of the previous four-door took place in 2017, and their version was the first to receive all the new updates. By the way, in the USA, Toyota Camry is doing well: from January to September 2023, 217,975 cars were sold (+1.7%; in the States, Toyota publishes statistics once a quarter). For comparison, the Honda Accord sedan sold 152,202 units (+38%) over the same period, while the Nissan Altima sold 92,511 units (-13%) over the same period.

The four-door is officially declared a new generation, but in fact we have before us a modernized a variant of the previous model on the GA-K platform. In particular, the body of the sedan presented today is almost the same as that of its predecessor. At the same time, the company announced that the suspension had been improved: new shock absorbers and other settings appeared.
The dimensions of the new product have not yet been disclosed. The length of the American base Camry of the outgoing generation is 4879 mm, width – 1839 mm, height – 1445 mm, distance between the axles – 2824 mm. Ground clearance – 145 mm.

The appearance was designed in accordance with the current corporate style of the brand, the main feature being bifurcated headlights and taillights. The “sportier” version of the XSE (the silver car in the photo) has its own radiator grille, 19-inch original wheels, a spoiler on the trunk lid and exposed dual exhaust pipes. But the “hot” TRD modification is excluded from the range.

The interior has a new front panel and more comfortable seats. “Simple” versions have a 7-inch virtual instrument panel and a multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen; expensive sedans have screens with a diagonal of 12.3 inches each. The list of standard equipment includes the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 complex, which includes adaptive cruise control, auto braking systems, blind spot monitoring and lane marking monitoring. Rich configurations also include assistance systems in traffic jams and when changing lanes, and a cross-traffic alert system. Top versions also include a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats.
The V6 3.5 engine (305 hp) has been retired, and in general there will no longer be “traditional” versions of the Toyota Camry in the USA: the sedan will be offered only as a HEV hybrid, that is, without the possibility of recharging from the mains. The installation of the new generation model consists of a four-cylinder naturally aspirated 2.5, an electromechanical variator and a pair of electric motors, the total output is 228 hp. versus 211 hp in a hybrid of the previous generation. For an additional fee, you can choose all-wheel drive with a separate electric motor on the rear axle (total system power is 235 hp), however, this engine is connected only when there is insufficient traction (for example, during bad weather or when cornering). But the new Camry can have all-wheel drive in any of the available trim levels, while the outgoing generation sedan has 4WD only in the purely gasoline version with 2.5 (205-208 hp, depending on the version).

6/6 < p>In the USA, sales of the new Toyota Camry will start in the spring of next year, and, as before, Americans will be offered locally produced cars. No prices yet. The former “traditional” sedan there today costs from $26,420, the hybrid – from $28,855 (prices do not include taxes and delivery). Next, Toyota will present a new generation Camry for other countries, and other regions will probably have their own engine range.
