Domklik analysts analyzed Sberbank’s mortgage-free transactions for 2023 and compiled the top 10 million-plus cities in which real estate transactions were most often concluded using their own funds.
The undisputed leader in the number of transactions without a mortgage was Moscow (35.2 thousand). In second and third places are St. Petersburg (13.1 thousand) and Yekaterinburg (6.7 thousand). The top five also included Ufa (4.5 thousand) and Novosibirsk (3.5 thousand).
Alexey Leipi, director of the Domklik division of Sberbank:
“In just less than 11 months of 2023, more than 226 thousand real estate transactions were concluded using our own funds for a total amount of 2.6 billion rubles. The share of such transactions in the total array of Sber transactions is 21%, that is, today every fifth of our transactions is non-mortgage.”
