Putin urged not to go to extremes on the issue of borrowing words

ST. PETERSBURG, November 17. You should not be shy about taking the best everywhere, but at the same time not forget your roots, said Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking about borrowed words in the Russian language.
“We always, or often, unfortunately, slip into some kind of then extremes. We always lack pragmatism. We must not be shy to take the best that is anywhere – in the East, in the West, in the North, in the South. At the same time, we must never forget our own roots, rely on traditions and , acting pragmatically like this, to achieve the maximum result for ourselves,” Putin said at the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
