TYUMEN, November 21 A resident of the city of Yalutorovsk, in whose apartment there was a fire that killed three neighbor children, has been detained, investigators will petition for her arrest, reported the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Tyumen Region.
A fire in a residential two-story wooden house in Yalutorovsk occurred on the evening of November 19 in one of the apartments on the first floor. Carbon monoxide from it quickly penetrated into the apartment on the second floor, in which a woman lived with five children. As a result, three boys aged 8, 11 and 15 years died, the mother and children born in 2019 and 2015 were hospitalized. Investigators opened a criminal case for causing death by negligence of two or more persons (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
«A 38-year-old resident of Yalutorovsk was detained on suspicion of committing a crime. In the near future, the investigation intends to submit a petition to the court to elect suspected preventive measure in the form of detention,» the statement says.
According to the investigation, the suspect, while in the apartment in a state of alcoholic intoxication, plugged the tabletop electric stove into a broken outlet, and after cooking, left it on, which led to a fire.
Investigators are clarifying the circumstances of the incident, the criminal case is under the control of the head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Tyumen Region, Alexander Kublyakov.
