In several regions of Turkey, the sea overflowed its banks after hurricanes

In a number of cities in Turkey after powerful hurricanes and heavy rains, the sea flooded areas, Turkish media reported.

In Izmir in the west of the country, the sea flooded several areas, including central Alsancak and Kordon, ferry flights were canceled.

Temperature in Istanbul fell immediately by 10 degrees — to +8, the rains continue. Due to the hurricane, 15% of Sunday flights were canceled at Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

In Dalaman in the resort province of Mugla, eyewitnesses observed a tornado. Car windows were broken, roofs of houses and garbage containers were flying in the air.

The resort Antalya was not spared by the disaster: trees were uprooted, cars and shopping pavilions were damaged. In the Kepez region, according to information, canals overflowed their banks. Boats sank in Manavgat, yachts were sunk in the center of Antalya.

The Turkish authorities declared an “orange” threat level in 44 out of 81 provinces, and a “yellow” threat level in another 20 provinces.
