MOSCOW, November 27. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, following a meeting of the Duma Council, instructed deputies from Crimea, Sevastopol and the Krasnodar Territory to go to their regions to provide assistance to citizens, victims of the storm, the press service of the State Duma told reporters.
«»At night in the Crimea, in the Kuban, a natural disaster broke out. Houses and power lines were flooded, damaged, and in some cases, due to a disruption in the heat supply, residents of apartment buildings were left without heating. It would be right for the deputies representing the affected regions and their assistants , went to their constituencies to provide assistance and support to the victims,” the press service quoted Volodin as saying.
The Mediterranean cyclone on November 27 brought stormy weather with rainfall and hurricane-force winds of up to 40 meters per second to southern Russia. Many villages in Crimea are without power, many trees have been knocked down, gas pipelines are damaged, there is a strong storm at sea, some roads are flooded, and embankments in some resort towns are damaged. A state of emergency has been declared in Sevastopol and individual municipalities of the Republic of Crimea.
