MOSCOW, November 30A member of an organized criminal group was sentenced in Orel to six years in a maximum security colony and a fine of 700 thousand rubles for illegal trafficking in firearms; a Walter pistol, parts of a submachine gun and 25 cartridges that they planned to sell were confiscated from the man and his two accomplices. reported the press service of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Oryol region.
It is noted that employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the region stopped illegal activities related to the sale of weapons by members of an organized criminal group in August 2022.
“A Walter system pistol, the main parts and details of an MP-40 submachine gun, 25 Luger 9 mm cartridges were seized from illegal circulation. Based on the results of the consideration of a criminal case initiated by the investigative unit of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Oryol region, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of the city of Oryol one of the suspects was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 6 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage of weapons and ammunition committed by an organized group — editor’s note),” the report says.
According to the press service, the accused was sentenced to six years in a maximum security colony and a fine of 700 thousand rubles, the sentence entered into legal force.
It is clarified that earlier the court convicted the defendant’s accomplice; he was sentenced to four years in a maximum security colony.
