Donetsk Administration In general, I am ready to reconsider my previous decision to include Olympic champion Elena Isinbayeva in the list of “honorary citizens” of the city, but certainly not in the near future. The presence of the athlete in this list was noticed after the holder of many regional awards, the curator of the Sheikh Mansur battalion, the head of the security department of Ramzan Kadyrov, and his 16-year-old son Adam were removed from the list. The presence of a teenager on the list was noticed the day before, then the Donetsk administration announced a hacker attack, and later Kadyrov Jr. was removed from the list.

After the Donetsk incident with Kadyrov, both Isinbayeva and the public had questions about it. Previously, the athlete called herself a “person of peace,” spoke ambiguously about her military rank, and the media wrote about her permanent residence in Spain. The International Olympic Committee stated that Isinbayeva does not support the SVO.

Football coach Mircea Lucescu also still retains his place on the list, who after the start of the SVO said that he would never return to Russia.

The Donetsk authorities are in no hurry to remove Isinbayeva and Mucheska from the honorary list, explaining that “the situation in Donetsk is very difficult at this stage.”

“When the situation stabilizes, we will discuss this issue. But not now,” officials told Podem.
