MOSCOW, December 1 Former coach of Spartak Moscow Oleg Romantsev took up the position of advisor at the Nizhny Novgorod football club, said the general director of the Nizhny Novgorod team, David Melik-Guseinov.

And the fans felt a sense of need and importance. Oleg Ivanovich agreed accept the invitation to be an advisor and mentor to our club. Together we are strong,» Melik-Huseinov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Romantsev is 69 years old, he headed Spartak from 1989 to 2003 with a break for the 1996 season. Under his leadership, the “red-whites” became champions of the USSR in 1989, and also won the Russian championship eight times (1992-1994, 1997-2001). Also, together with Romantsev, “Spartak” won the national Cup four times — the “red-whites” took the last USSR Cup in 1992, and then won the Russian Cup three times (1994, 1998, 2003).
Nizhny Novgorod with 21 points in 16 rounds is in ninth place in the Russian Premier League (RPL) table.
