The tragedy occurred in the village of Vysokoye, Rybnovsky district, Ryazan region, where Vologda police officers carried out operational measures against a local resident born in 1978. As the prosecutor's office of the Ryazan region reported, a 47-year-old native of the Vologda region resisted and fired a shot from a hunting rifle, resulting in the death of a police officer. According to the regional SUSK, a criminal case has been opened regarding an attack on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
