The State Duma asked to check the series “The Boy’s Word” and “Food Block”

MOSCOW, December 4 Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection Nina Ostanina appealed to the Investigative Committee and Roskomnadzor of the Russian Federation to check the series “The Boy’s Word” for promoting dangerous lifestyles for teenagers, documents are available.

“On the eve of 2024 declared by the President of the Russian Federation as the Year of the Family, this fact causes indignation, and therefore I ask you, dear Andrei Yuryevich, to check two series — “The Boy’s Word” and "Food department" — for the purpose of propaganda and dissemination of prohibited information that could cause harm to the younger generation, including harm to the life and health of children, as well as the entire Russian society,” says the address to Andrei Lipov, head of Roskomnadzor.

The author of the appeal notes that the incident that occurred on December 2 in Irkutsk received wide attention in the media. At the Lisikha stop, a 15-year-old schoolboy was attacked by a crowd of teenagers and stabbed him in the carotid artery, after which the boy died.

“The murder is allegedly associated with the TV series “The Boy’s Word,” which was watched more than once by criminals — teenagers who brutally killed a child. Scenes from the series «The Boy's Word» are terrifying. Concerns that arose during the filming of the series that teenagers would begin to romanticize crime, having seen enough of on-screen bandits, turned into a cruel reality that took the life of a boy,” noted the author of the appeal.

In a request to the Investigative Committee RF Ostanina asks to look into the murder of a schoolchild and find out whether it could be connected with an imitation of a TV series that contains a similar scene.

"If watching the series had an impact on the criminals and led to the murder of a child, I ask you to evaluate the actions of the director of the series, Zh. Kryzhovnikov, and those involved in its creation and release to a wide audience, including officials of the Russian Ministry of Culture, who gave permission for the release of this film,” the document says.

The deputy also asks to check the TV series «Pisheblok», since, in her opinion, it denigrates the Soviet period and the pioneers.
