SARATOV, December 10A utility failure on heating networks in Saratov on Sunday in freezing temperatures left more than 140 apartment buildings with a population of about 28 thousand people and seven social facilities without heating, the regional prosecutor’s office reported on the Telegram channel.

“According to available operational information, on Kupriyanov Street, Leninsky District of Saratov, an accident occurred on heating networks with a diameter of 1200 millimeters. More than 140 apartment buildings and seven social facilities are temporarily located in the shutdown zone. Also, a number of subscribers are supplied with heat at reduced parameters. Currently, the Saratov branch PJSC “T Plus” “Work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the accident and connect these facilities according to a temporary heat supply scheme,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The department’s press service clarified that about 28 thousand people live in the shutdown zone .

The Saratov branch of PJSC “T Plus” clarifies in the Telegram channel that employees of Saratov Heating Networks discovered a defect in the pipeline during a scheduled inspection; work to eliminate the damage is planned to be completed by 12.00 (11.00 Moscow time) Monday.
“In order to avoid negative consequences, it was decided to carry out repair work before the onset of severe frosts, which are predicted in the second half of the (next) week. Therefore, we are forced to temporarily turn off the heating and hot water supply… The company apologizes for the inconvenience and “will make every effort to resolve this situation as quickly as possible,” the statement said.
