Roscosmos spoke about weekends for cosmonauts on the ISS

MOSCOW, December 9Russian cosmonauts currently working on the International Space Station will receive five days off for the upcoming New Year holidays, the Roscosmos press service reported.
“”The cosmonauts will rest from December 30 to January 1, followed by working days. January 6-7 is a calendar weekend,” the agency's interlocutor said.
A year ago, cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev, who was at the station on these dates, told reporters that the crew received two days off after the New Year, but was on duty even on holidays. According to him, already on January 1 they had to complete tasks.

New Year on the ISS, which makes one revolution around the Earth in about 90 minutes, occurs, depending on the trajectory, 15 or 16 times. Usually, crew members congratulate each other every time a holiday comes where they are from.

At the station there is a tradition of preparing holiday treats from products that are included in standard diets, as well as from those goods that are sent to astronauts on individual requests. So, last year, the astronauts saved a single pack of mayonnaise to make Olivier.
The New Year 2024 will be celebrated on the ISS by Russians Oleg Kononenko and Nikolay Chub, who arrived in September on the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft, as well as Konstantin Borisov, who arrived on the American Crew Dragon at the end of August. The holiday will be shared with them by American Loral O'Hara (also flown on the Soyuz MS-25) and Borisov's fellow crew members NASA astronaut Jasmine Moghbeli, European Space Agency astronaut Dane Andreas Mogensen and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa.< br />
