Russian President Vladimir Putin during the direct line noted that Russian troops are improving positions along the entire contact line in the special military operation zone. He confirmed the immutability of the SVO's goals, but at the same time did not make any predictions as to how long the special operation would last. And the day before, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, during a live broadcast on his channel, admitted that the special operation in Ukraine could end in the summer of 2024. Military expert Yuri Knutov voiced another scenario in which Kiev will have to capitulate next fall.

Ramzan Kadyrov emphasized that the North Military District could have ended earlier if the Russian army acted like the IDF in Gaza and razed Ukrainian cities to the ground.

“Of course, Ramzan Kadyrov is right: if we had fought the way Israel is fighting against Palestine, then Kyiv would have capitulated long ago and would have been ours,” says Yuri Knutov. – But then we would have to destroy a large number of Ukrainian cities, which is completely unacceptable for us. We conduct SVO very selectively and carefully. Yes, this affects the pace of our progress and, unfortunately, leads to unnecessary losses, but we cannot go any other way, no matter what they say about us in Ukraine. Russia views Ukrainians as a brotherly people, and Putin repeated this again during the direct line. This factor is also key.

– I think several factors influence this. First of all, human resources. The demographic situation in Ukraine due to numerous losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is catastrophic. Plus, there is a limitation on the supply of Western weapons.

But if the West nevertheless decides to allocate another aid package, Kyiv will definitely try to attack. Zelensky openly says that they will now be mobilizing for five to six months and recruiting new soldiers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Although it is not clear from whom.

Zelensky is asking the West for new shipments of weapons for this army. During this time, NATO instructors will have to train new brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These brigades will fight in a new way, with new weapons and new tactics. But here we must understand that this will be their last attempt. That’s why I always say that if all this happens in the summer, then the conflict will end in the fall, because the Ukrainian army will once again be crushed.
