MOSCOW, December 15 Deputy Chairman of the RF Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in his Telegram channel called the statements of Russian writers who went abroad out of bounds, what the hell the line between good and evil, and called the loss of money from sales in Russia the most terrible punishment for them.
Earlier, the AST publishing house reported that books by Russian writers Boris Akunin and Dmitry Bykov* would not be published until a legal assessment of their political statements. The bookstore chain Read-Gorod — Bukvoed has also suspended sales of books by two writers.
Previously, both writers emigrated from Russia and publicly spoke out against the SVO. In addition, in conversations with pranksters Vovan and Lexus Bykov* admitted that he was offended by the murders of Russians, but he had no complaints against Ukraine, and Akunin called for the creation of a “program to help relocation of deserters from the Russian army.”
“Still, some of our “literary classics” who have overthrown the cordon, in the words of Mikhail Bulgakov, are “the most vile scum.” Well, okay, they really don’t like the “political regime”, they oppose the decisions of the state. This is normal, you can’t please everyone, everyone has «You have the right to your point of view. But to rejoice at striking your own country, to wish the death of your citizens — this, you know, is completely 'out of bounds,' it is beyond good and evil,» Medvedev wrote.
“At the same time, they happily receive huge fees for their opuses, for their publication and film adaptation in Russia, collected through payments from the very people whom they openly consider orcs and whom they wish death from Ukrainian drones. Therefore, the worst punishment for them will not be separation from the Motherland, which they sold, not the loss of citizenship, which they do not value at all, but the loss of dough. It’s a pity that they didn’t do this earlier, which I had the opportunity to write about a year ago. They are by no means Nabokovs and are unlikely to be able to write on other languages, like Russian,» Medvedev added.
He added that these authors will be able to return “only if our people erase historical memory and betray the soldiers who died for it,” which, according to Medvedev, will never happen. “So let the literary degenerates die of anger in a foreign land and think today about who will look after their graves. There will be plenty to spit on,” he wrote.
