For travel on the new expressway between the capitals of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan, car owners will have to pay 4,481 rubles.
The M-12 Vostok highway is a toll backup for the M-7 Volga federal highway. Today the main route of this highway was opened — from Moscow through Nizhny Novgorod to Kazan. The route connected the Moscow, Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the republics of Chuvashia and Tatarstan. Its total length is 810 km.

Currently, on sections of the highway the maximum permitted speed is 110 km/h. Earlier, the state company Avtodor calculated that when driving along the new toll highway, the travel time from Moscow to Kazan will be reduced from 12 to 6 hours 30 minutes. The Vostok highway also allows you to get from the capital of the Russian Federation to Vladimir in 1 hour 40 minutes, to Nizhny Novgorod in 3 hours 30 minutes.
Chairman of the Board of Avtodor Vyacheslav Petushenko noted that on the route from Moscow to Kazan there is “not a single traffic light, not a single intersection at the same level.” Also, according to him, the contractors of the state company during the construction of the M-12 erected 323 artificial structures, their total length was about 24.5 km. The list includes bridges across the Oka (length — 1.4 km), the Volga (3.3 km), and the Sura (926 meters).
The Vostok highway was equipped with the Free Flow system, which provides for the absence of barriers, which allows you to pass through toll booths without reducing speed. They were replaced by cameras and sensors located in special frames that recognize the presence of a transponder and identify license plates, as well as brands and models.
Previously, the cost of travel on the M-12 highway from Moscow to Kazan for car owners became known: the price is 4,481 rubles. For travel from Moscow to Arzamas you will have to pay 2821 rubles, from Moscow to Vladimir — 1399 rubles, from Vladimir to Arzamas — 1422 rubles, from Nizhny Novgorod to Kazan — 1660 rubles.
Further along the route M-12 “Vostok” will be extended: as we reported earlier, in 2024 the expressway will be completed to Yekaterinburg (work is already underway), and in 2025 the route will reach Tyumen.
Remember, last fall Kolesa.ru correspondent drove along the new M-12 “Vostok” highway from Moscow to Murom and Arzamas. During the trip, he assessed the level of convenience, service, safety and counted expenses.
