    The first flight launch vehicle “Angara-A5” was sent to the Vostochny cosmodrome

    MOSCOW, December 23 The first flight launch vehicle Angara-A5 was sent to Vostochny, the space infrastructure at the cosmodrome is ready to begin preparations for launch, Roscosmos reported ” on Telegram.
    “The first flightable Angara-A5 has been sent for flight development tests to Vostochny,” the message says.
    According to the state corporation, at the cosmodrome they completed the creation and testing of the functionality of the infrastructure of the technical complex for the preparation of Angara rockets, Roscosmos specialists confirmed the readiness and operability of the launch complex systems.

    “Thus, the space infrastructure for the Angara at Vostochny is ready to begin preparing the first flight rocket for launch,” Roscosmos reported.

    According to the press service of the government of the Omsk region, the regional governor Vitaly Khotsenko took part in the ceremony of sending the rocket from Omsk. In turn, the governor himself published on his Telegram channel photographs of a rocket ready to be sent from the Omsk Polet plant and called its sending for testing “a historical moment confirming Russia’s space power” and a guarantor of independent access to space.
    On December 22, the Orion upper stage was sent to the Vostochny cosmodrome.
    As part of the Amur space rocket complex of the first stage at Vostochny, it is planned to use three-stage heavy-class launch vehicles “Angara-A5” and “Angara-A5M” .
    Earlier, First Deputy General Director of Roscosmos Andrei Elchaninov said that the state corporation hopes that the first launch of Angara from Vostochny will take place in the first quarter of 2024.

    “Amur” is the name of the complex for Angara missiles at Vostochny. Launch and technical facilities have been built there since 2018. Comprehensive launch tests took place from November 16 to December 11, 2023.
