YEKATERINBURG, December 26 The trial of teenagers from Yekaterinburg special school No. 124, where sexual and physical abuse of students took place, was postponed due to the failure of the escaped defendant to appear, lawyer Georgy said Krasnov, representing the family of the injured boy.
Earlier, Krasnov said that in April a 13-year-old boy ran away from special school No. 124 in Yekaterinburg. In a conversation with his mother, the young man admitted that violence, including sexual violence, was occurring in the institution. The family turned to the media and lawyers for help. At the school there was a teacher who was over 70 years old, he taught children “Zon’s rules”, “comradely courts” were practiced there, where it was voted on whether to punish the offenders with forced oral sex, Krasnov cited the words of Krasnov’s children in a conversation with the agency. His client is a boy against whom no sexual acts were committed; he is not a victim, but a witness who was threatened with the same “trial,” the lawyer clarified.
The case involves three teenagers who were accused of 12 counts of sexual assault; they categorically deny their guilt. Two children were recognized as victims. Two teenagers were taken into custody, the third defendant was under recognizance not to leave the place and was in a special school, from where he escaped the day before, Krasnov noted. A closed meeting on this process was held on December 26.
“The trial of the teenagers from the 124th special school was postponed to January 22 due to the failure of the escaped defendant to appear. Employees of the special school and the mother of the escapee appeared at the trial — she said that her son repeatedly called her after the escape, saying that he was in Yekaterinburg and had everything okay, I asked you not to worry. The issue of changing the preventive measure for the escaped will be discussed and decided by the court at the next court hearing on January 22,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
On Tuesday, senior assistant to the head of the regional department of the RF IC, Alexander Shulga, said that the ex-director of the special school will also appear in court — under the article of negligence. According to the Investigative Committee, in October 2022, minor pupils of a special school “committed illegal actions” against a teenager born in 2009. At the same time, the woman, at that time the director of the educational institution, knew, but did not report this to law enforcement agencies and did not take the necessary measures to help the injured teenager, which is why the violence in the special school continued.
Special school No. 124 in Yekaterinburg is a closed institution for students with generally dangerous behavior; children are admitted to it by court order.
