BELGOROD, December 29 Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military has attacked the border areas of the Belgorod region with five kamikaze drones, said the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
On Friday, the governor released a summary of strikes in the region for December 28. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military fired 64 shells at five border municipalities, including two explosive devices dropped from drones. The Grayvoronsky district suffered the most, where 32 arrivals were recorded. According to the governor, a civilian resident of the village of Mokraya Orlovka was injured as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian kamikaze drone; 7 private households, one car and a communications infrastructure facility were also damaged.
“In the Grayvoronsky urban district, the village of Mokraya Orlovka was attacked by a kamikaze drone. A civilian received shrapnel wounds. The explosive device was dropped from the drone while the man was on the street. The victim had multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, abdomen and lower extremities. The man was taken to hospital,” Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
He added that a residential building was also damaged. The same village also came under fire, and 8 arrivals were recorded. A total of 20 mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the villages of Spodaryushino and Dronovka; in Dronovka, five households and a car were damaged. According to the head of the region, 4 mortar shells were fired at the village of Gorkovsky. The village was also attacked by a kamikaze drone, and a communication infrastructure facility was damaged.
According to the governor, in the Belgorod region, a kamikaze drone attacked the Nekhoteevka international checkpoint. In the Borisov region, 23 mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the Lozovaya Rudka village. The enemy also attacked with a kamikaze drone.
“In the Shebekinsky urban district, one mortar shell was fired into the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. No one was hurt. Windows were broken out by shell fragments, the façade and fence of a private residential building were cut. In the village of Terezovka, one fragmentation munition was dropped from a UAV. One mortar shell was fired into the village of Belyanka. In the village of Sereda, the enemy attacked with a kamikaze drone, and one fragmentation munition was also dropped from a UAV in Sereda,” Gladkov noted.
The head of the region clarified that in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, on the outskirts of the village of Vyazovoye, one arrival was recorded, on the outskirts of the village of Prilesye – 4 arrivals.
Since April 11, 2022, a high (yellow) level of terrorist danger has been established throughout the Belgorod region. The need to introduce a regime is caused by the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the Ukrainian military in the border areas. The length of the Ukrainian border with the Belgorod region is 350 kilometers.
