The number of victims of the shelling of Belgorod has increased to 22, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported in his Telegram channel.
He also specified the number of victims — according to the latest data, there are 109 of them people.
Previously it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the center of Belgorod. The strike was reportedly carried out using Alder missiles with a prohibited cassette part and shells from the Czech Vampire MLRS. Most of it was intercepted on approach to Belgorod, but some of the ammunition hit densely populated areas.
The Russian Permanent Mission in Geneva later announced that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk is shamefully silent about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike on the center Belgorod. Russian diplomats noted that Turk does not deserve to hold this position. In their opinion, this reaction was predictable. The Permanent Mission noted that this approach is the reason for poor relations between the Russian Federation and the UN OHCHR.
