MOSCOW, December 27The Russian Youth Theater (RAMT) has withdrawn from its repertoire performances based on the works of Boris Akunin*, the theater press attaché reported.
Previously, Rosfinmonitoring added Grigory Chkhartishvili* (pseudonym — Boris Akunin*) to the list of terrorists and extremists. Later, the RF Investigative Committee opened a case against the writer for fake news about the RF Armed Forces and public justification of terrorism.
«We have removed three performances from the repertoire that were staged based on the works of Akunin*. These are «Fandorin», » Yin and Yang, White and Black versions,” said the press attaché.
The Alexandrinsky Theater, where a performance based on Akunin’s play was also staged*, reported on December 18 that it had received a request from the Investigative Committee and was currently preparing a response to it.
Akunin* has been living abroad for several years. People and organizations included in this register of Rosfinmonitoring are prohibited from interacting with the media, posting information online, organizing public events, participating in elections and using any financial services that do not relate to paying taxes, salaries and compensation for damage.
