The transformed Toyota Camry sedan debuted in November last year; the brand almost simultaneously introduced two versions: for North America and China. In both cases, the start of “live” sales is scheduled for the spring of 2024, but China has already announced preliminary prices and opened the acceptance of applications. For this country, the Camry is produced locally, the GAC Toyota joint venture is responsible for production.

The length of the standard model for China is 4915 mm, which is 30 mm more than the previous local sedan. Height reduced by 5 mm to 1450 mm. The width and wheelbase have not changed – 1840 and 2825 mm, respectively. The Chinese are also offered slightly larger versions – 4950 mm long and 1850 mm wide. In the US, the new generation sedan will be offered exclusively as an HEV hybrid. But in China, Camry can still be bought only with an internal combustion engine, although there is only one “traditional” version left – with a 2.0 naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a power of 173 hp. in combination with a CVT (on the outgoing four-door, the two-liter engine produces 177 hp; the previous model still has a 207-horsepower 2.5 engine). Hybrids are, of course, also presented in China: a younger version with derated power up to 152 hp is now available for order. 2.0 engine (total output of the system is 197 hp; there has never been such a HEV modification in the Middle Kingdom), later a hybrid Camry with an installation based on the 2.5 engine will go on sale. The Chinese sedan only comes with front-wheel drive, while the American Camry has all-wheel drive versions (with a separate electric motor on the rear axle).

Today the price of pure gasoline a new generation sedan ranges from 173,800 to 198,800 yuan (about 2.2 million – 2.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate at the time of publication), a hybrid with 2.0 will cost 181,800 – 208,800 yuan (about 2.3 million – 2 .64 million rubles). As mentioned above, the price list is still preliminary, that is, actual prices will most likely be slightly lower. The previous Toyota Camry is still in service in China, and it is more expensive: a “traditional” four-door with a 2.0 engine will cost 179,800 – 205,800 yuan (about 2.27 million – 2.6 million rubles).
