Artisan Vehicle Design, headquartered in London, is preparing to bring to market the “exemplary” Nissan GT-R: based on coupe of the current generation R35, its technical contents have been comprehensively modernized, and the body has been redesigned in the spirit of the canonical predecessor of the R34 generation.
The current R35 generation Nissan GT-R has been in production since 2007; the model underwent its last restyling at the beginning of last year and then left the European market due to environmental restrictions. Last fall, Nissan unveiled the Hyper Force concept electric supercar, a harbinger of the all-new GT-R that will be released at the end of this decade. It turns out that the R35 is the last petrol GT-R in history, the British company Artisan Vehicle Design decided to bring it to technical and aesthetic perfection and return it to the European market.

Roman Mia, chief designer of Artisan Vehicle Design, has had the idea of the perfect GT-R for several years: it consists of combining the iconic appearance of the R34-generation Skyline GT-R coupe with modern technology and modern materials. It is curious that Nissan itself, during the last restyling of the R35 generation coupe, tried to instill in it the features of its predecessor R34, but the factory designer was allowed to only slightly reshape the radiator grille and front bumper, while the shape of the headlights remained the same.
The creators of the Artisan GT-R were not limited by the budgetary and marketing guidelines of Nissan and allowed themselves to almost completely reshape the body of the original coupe: the outer skin of the British supercar is made of carbon fiber, the headlights and lanterns here are completely new, but made in the style of the Skyline GT-R R34, softened the shape of the sidewalls, the roof profile has been changed, the standard quadrangular rear windows have been replaced by more compact triangular ones. Even the trunk lid has been redesigned to better suit the look of the R34 generation coupe.

The interior is also almost completely redone, but here the Artisan GT-R does not quote the coupe of the R34 generation, but offers a further evolution of the style of the coupe of the R35 generation: the early rather than restyled version of the front panel without central air ducts is taken as the basis, the standard multimedia system and microclimate unit are replaced by a larger one a vertical touch screen, the design of the door cards and the central tunnel has been changed, a new steering wheel with thin spokes and a thick suede rim has been installed. The standard front seats are replaced with integral Recaro buckets with a carbon fiber frame. All hard interior trim is made of lacquered carbon fiber.

There is no detailed information about the technical stuffing of the Artisan GT-R yet; it is only known that the British supercar will have two versions — Track Package with an engine producing more than 800 hp. and Ultimate Package with an engine producing more than 1000 hp. (the stock 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo petrol engine now produces a maximum of 600 hp), both will have custom suspension, powerful carbon-ceramic brakes and a thunderous exhaust system. Overall, the Artisan GT-R should be lighter, stiffer and faster than the original Nissan GT-R.

The London company promises to present a working prototype of the Artisan GT-R this summer, and in November the car will be shown at the SEMA tuning show in Las Vegas. The Artisan GT-R will be produced in Hannover, Germany, with a minimum price of £369,000, which is approximately half the price of the limited-edition 720-horsepower Nissan GT-R50 from five years ago.
