Ukrainian media reported on an alternative to mobilization for residents of Western Ukraine
Currently, residents of the Ivano-Frankivsk region in western Ukraine are offered an alternative to mobilization, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the publication of the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua.
It is reported that it will be possible to receive a deferment from mobilization in the event that if the mobilized person agrees to work on the construction of fortifications in the part of the DPR controlled by Kiev.
Earlier, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Denis Shmygal announced the allocation of about $65.8 million for the construction of engineering, technical and fortification structures.
Thus, those who agree are offered a salary of 20 thousand hryvnia ($526), and also promise to provide accommodation and nutrition. The total number of “vacancies” is 300 people.
It was previously reported that legislation in Ukraine would be changed for the sake of those who escaped from mobilization. Martial law has been declared in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, and general mobilization was announced the next day. In the country, it is legally prohibited for men aged 18 to 60 to travel abroad, and summonses are handed out in a variety of places.
Previously, a bill on the mobilization of men abroad was announced in Ukraine, which also provides for obtaining agendas and the passage of mobilization. It also became known that disabled people of the 3rd group were no longer allowed to travel abroad to Ukraine, and from January 1 it was planned to close travel for disabled people of groups 1-2. It was also reported that in 2023, more than 220 groups were identified in Ukraine that transported army evaders abroad.
