MOSCOW, January 11 Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin expressed condolences to the colleagues, family and friends of actor and director Yuri Solomin, calling his departure an irreparable loss for Russian culture.
Solomin died on January 11 at the age of 89. Farewell to him will be held at the Maly Theater on January 15, after which the artist will be buried at Troekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
«Artistic director of the Maly Theater, an outstanding artist and director, he was loved by millions of spectators of all generations. This is an irreparable loss for Russian culture, the legendary theater, family and friends,” the telegram says.
Mishustin noted that Solomin created bright and unique images, expanding the scope of his role, and brilliantly transformed into dramatic, lyrical and poignant roles.
«Yuri Solomin is no longer with us. But his roles, his productions, his students remain. The good memory of this great artist and outstanding person remains. Please convey my deep condolences, words of sympathy and support to the family and friends of Yuri Solomin, to everyone to his many fans,” the Prime Minister noted.
