MOSCOW, January 15 Half of the sellers who owned the goods that were in the Wildberries warehouse in Shushary, where the fire occurred, received the first compensation, the company reports.
The Wildberries warehouse in Shushary, with an area of over 100 thousand square meters, caught fire on Saturday, the fire covered 70 thousand square meters, and the open burning was extinguished only on Sunday. Approximately the damage from the fire is estimated by insurers at 10-11 billion rubles.
“Today Wildberries paid the first compensation to sellers. … Half of the sellers, owners of goods in the warehouse in Shushary, received the first compensation,” the message says.
It is noted that the payment amount is calculated based on the average retail price of the product minus standard expenses — marketplace commission and logistics costs.
The company also emphasized that it plans to make payments to sellers in stages. “Today’s compensation is the first payment, it was made on the basis of a preliminary assessment, which will be further clarified. … The company has yet to find out where the goods of each seller were on the day of the fire: some of the orders were already on their way to delivery points, some goods had not yet been accepted at warehouse,» the message adds.
Earlier on Monday, the company announced that it had concluded an insurance contract for goods in Shushary for the period of their storage and transportation.
