The Chinese brand Tank belongs to the Great Wall concern; its first product on the Russian market was the Tank 300 frame. This car reached dealers in mid-March of this year. Then another model was added to the local lineup – the large SUV Tank 500. Initially it was offered only with a traditional internal combustion engine, but now the family has been expanded with a variant with a hybrid “filling”.

As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, this version of the Tank 500 will receive the addition of Urban to the name. The hybrid version is positioned by the Russian office of the brand as a seven-seat urban frame SUV. Now the company has announced the start of sales of the new product; it is known that the first cars will reach local dealers by the beginning of next month.
The recommended retail price of the Tank 500 Urban is already known: purchasing such a frame SUV will cost 6,299,000 rubles. According to the price list on the official website of the brand, purchasing the Adventure version will cost the same amount, and for the Premium version you will have to pay 6,899,000 rubles. Please note that the price does not include current promotions.
The new version of the frame SUV has differences in appearance from the gasoline version that was previously released on the Russian market. In particular, the Tank 500 Urban received a different radiator grille, as well as wheels designed in a different style. Even in the “urban” version, the spare wheel is located on the outside of the trunk door.
The Tank 500 Urban interior is designed for seven passengers, while the seats in the third and second rows can be folded (the rear sofa has an electric folding drive in a 50/50 ratio). When unfolded, the second row can be adjusted longitudinally. The length of the frame SUV is 4878 mm, width – 1934 mm, height – 1905 mm, distance between axles – 2850 mm, and ground clearance is 224 mm.

The Tank 500 Urban hybrid power plant is based on a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with a power of 245 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. It works in tandem with a small battery and a nine-speed automatic transmission, which integrates a 54 hp electric motor. (268 Nm).
The total output of the power plant of the SUV with the Urban increase is 299 hp. (same figure as Tank 500 with 3.0-liter V6 engine). The total torque is 616 Nm (versus 500 Nm for the regular “five hundredth”). The hybrid SUV needs 7.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km, and its combined fuel consumption is 8.5 liters per 100 km (NEDC cycle), which is 3 liters less than the V6 version.
Tank 500 Urban retained the all-wheel drive system, which is implemented according to the Torque on Demand scheme: it assumes that traction is constantly transmitted to the rear axle, and the front axle is connected when necessary. There is a reduction gear, several driving modes for asphalt and off-road, including customizable, as well as cross-axle differential locks and a Tank-turn function, which allows you to reduce the turning circle on rough terrain in confined spaces.
