What is known about the women's company
A company consisting exclusively of women appeared at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kremensky sector of the front, a special forces soldier “Akhmat” with the call sign Hades told RIA Novosti. From radio intercepts it became clear that these were drone operators and snipers. We asked a military expert, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin and the head of the department of the Plekhanov University of Economics, reserve colonel Andrei Koshkin to comment on the message.
As the special forces fighter “Akhmat” reported, the women’s unit belongs to the 54th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is called K-2 and, presumably, consists of volunteers.
“The number of female military personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has increased significantly since the beginning of the special operation,” says Vasily Dandykin. — Now there are almost 43 thousand of them. This is a lot, almost like the entire Belarusian army. And, if previously women from 18 to 40 years old could enter into a contract, now the age limit has been raised to 60 years. That is, there may well be older women in the designated unit.
A military expert notes that in Ukraine there is a massive campaigning for the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including women.
—In January, the Ukrainian military department purchased 50 thousand sets of women's military uniforms. And they have already begun to sew body armor taking into account the anatomical characteristics of women.
According to our interlocutor, the K-2 unit included the most motivated female soldiers.

Vasily Dandykin is sure that this is not the last company consisting exclusively of women.
—It’s one thing if these are nurses from the medical service, including from the battalion level. And it’s completely different if women deliberately took up arms. They are already soldiers. And here the principle already applies: if you do not destroy the enemy, then he will destroy you.
Based on the experience of business trips in the North Caucasus, Dandykin notes that female fighters can be very cruel.
— Our tankers crushed one such sniper in the Alleroi area (a village in the Kurchaloevsky district of the Chechen Republic). She came from Samara to earn money for her wedding. Killed 17 of our guys.
According to a military expert, snipers and drone operators are related professions in terms of risk.
— In general, they try not to take snipers prisoner. But UAV operators are now causing even more damage than sniper fire. A drone can destroy a combat vehicle or a tank – a means of firing along with people. Drone operators are not located somewhere in the depths of the defense, because drones fly at a distance of 3-4 kilometers, maximum five. And next to the line of combat contact, where everything is visible and revealed. In my opinion, there is a better chance of surviving in assault attacks than standing in positions and controlling a drone.
The motives for voluntarily going to the front line for female soldiers could be different.
— Someone went to take revenge. Surely there are those who decided to earn extra money. The material factor should not be discounted. Some people find it romantic. They want to try on a military uniform and show off, and perhaps find a husband at the front. But that's all before the first fight. How many of these women have already died during the fighting. And now it’s winter. It is one for everyone.
Women's companies in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the captain of the first rank, appear against the backdrop of a shortage of fighters due to huge losses at the front.
—Only according to obituaries published in the Ukrainian media and social networks, about 408 thousand military personnel are listed as killed. This is not counting the missing, wounded and maimed. They have already raked out all the men in the villages and towns. Everyone has seen these endless cemeteries. Now they want to return those who fled to Europe. And let the female population of Ukraine be given away.
Reserve Colonel Andrei Koshkin is sure that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to throw women to the front line, this means that male fighters are no longer able to cover these directions.
—These are trained specialists. They are now undergoing combat testing at positions on the line of combat contact. It is possible that soon there will also be units of female soldiers who will carry out assault missions. This is all the result of the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive. But Washington needs the Ukrainians to fight in winter, spring, summer and until November, when the US presidential elections will be held.
