MOSCOW, January 26 The arrested musicians of the Russian group «Bi-2» arrived in the court of Phuket, the capital of the island province of the same name, where the hearing on their case will begin, the correspondent reports.
The artists were detained in Thailand for performing without the necessary permission.
The musicians arrived at the court accompanied by police in an unmarked minibus; they were not handcuffed.
They were not placed in a cell, but were allowed to remain in the courtyard ships or in a minibus with air conditioning on. The daytime temperature on the island is now 32-34 degrees Celsius.
A source in the Phuket police said that at the investigation stage the musicians pleaded guilty. If they repeat this statement in court, the verdict will be pronounced on the same day.
Under Thai law, a defendant who pleads guilty is entitled to leniency and usually receives a reduced sentence.
Working as a foreign citizen without official permission used to be punishable by a prison sentence in Thailand. After legislative changes in 2018, the punishment for the first episode of working without a permit became a fine and deportation from the country.
Violators are blacklisted, preventing them from subsequently entering the kingdom for 3, 5 or 10 years.
