MOSCOW, January 26 Elena Senina, lawyer of Lyubov Uspenskaya, spoke about the singer’s defense strategy in the lawsuit filed against her by Philip Kirkorov.
The day before, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow accepted for consideration Kirkorov’s claim against Uspenskaya for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. The People's Artist intends to sue 12 million rubles for the fact that the singer, in an interview with blogger Alena Zhigalova, called the musician a “misogynist.”
“
"We will have to present evidence in court indicating that Lyubov Uspenskaya had grounds in order to express her opinion about Philip Kirkorov,” explained Elena Senina.
Uspenskaya intends to present to the court materials characterizing the personality of the king of pop and how society perceives him.
““We will, of course, have to present all the supporting materials that took place in relation to Philip Kirkorov, including in the media, to the court,” said Senina. “Starting, perhaps, with the “pink blouse” and ending «naked party» because all this is material that characterizes a person.»
The lawyer said that Lyubov Uspenskaya is confident that she is right and is ready for trial.
““We were not offered a pre-trial settlement and reconciliation of the parties. And we ourselves will not take such an initiative for sure, because we believe that the truth is on our side,” the lawyer concluded.
Kirkorov filed a lawsuit on December 13, but the case was accepted for consideration only on January 25. The first conversation between the parties is scheduled for March 11.
In addition to Uspenskaya, the defendants in the lawsuit include blogger Zhigalova, as well as Zen.Platform and VKontakte, on whose resources the interview is posted.
