VOLGOGRAD, January 29 A court in Volgograd sentenced to 15 years in a maximum security colony a citizen of Uzbekistan who persuaded a 17-year-old girl to try drugs, after which she died, the press reported. -prosecutor's office of the Volgograd region.
It was previously reported that on the night of May 10, 2023, a 22-year-old migrant from Uzbekistan met three girls in a bar in Volgograd, two of whom were minors. He persuaded them to try drugs, and as a result, the 17-year-old girl died. The young man left the region after the incident, but was detained in the Astrakhan region.
According to the prosecutor’s office, on Monday the Central District Court of Volgograd found him guilty of illegal sale of drugs to minors, attempted sale in groups and inducing two or more persons, including a minor, to consume prohibited substances, resulting in death.
““Taking into account the circumstances of the crimes and the opinion of the state prosecution, the court sentenced the man to 15 years in prison to be served in a high-security correctional colony,” the department said in a statement.
The verdict has not entered into force.
