The Italian brand Abarth, part of the Stellantis corporation, has revealed the appearance of its second electric model — the 600e subcompact crossover, made on the basis of the 600e Fiat models.
The Abarth brand officially announced its sports crossover a month ago, and yesterday it declassified its appearance, since it is now participating in advertising filming in Milan and there is no longer any point in hiding its appearance — anyway onlookers and paparazzi will leak his photographs onto the Internet. Apparently, there is not much time left before the full premiere, but its date has not yet been announced.
So, as we expected, the new product received the name Abarth 600e — this is the second all-electric model from the brand with a scorpion on the emblem, the first being the Abarth 500e hot hatch that debuted in 2022. There will also be a third electric model in the new Abarth product line, but there is no information about it yet. The Italian brand will have more new gasoline products.
The only published photo shows the Abarth 600e crossover in the debut limited Scorpionissima version and in the exclusive Hypnotic Purple color. From the original Fiat 600e, which made its world premiere last summer, the Abarth crossover is distinguished by a more aggressive design of the front end with a wider and squared lower part of the front bumper, large 20-inch wheels and a developed spoiler on the tailgate. The interior has not yet been declassified, but it promises sports front seats with four foam fillers of different densities, providing a good balance of comfort and lateral support.
The Fiat 600e is based on the CMP (Common Modular Platform), well known from other modern subcompact Stellantis models, and the Abarth 600e is based on its special version of the Perfo-eCMP with sporty chassis settings, powerful disc brakes and a limited-slip differential, which allows you to reliably control the generated power. electric motor traction. Another unique feature of the Abarth 600e is the tires with polyurethane inserts, like those on Formula E cars, which have excellent grip combined with low noise levels.
If the Fiat 600e has a maximum power of the electric motor installed on the front axle is 156 hp, then the Abarth 600e has increased it to 240 hp. is the most powerful production Abarth in history. For comparison, let’s say that on the last top hatchback of the “hydrocarbon” era, the Abarth 695 Biposto, the 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine produces 190 hp. To be fair, we note that in the recent past Abarth also had a 240-horsepower gasoline spider 1000 SP, but only five of these were made, and in general the Abarth 1000 SP is not an original development, but a redesigned Alfa Romeo 4C Spider.
< p>How much the Abarth 600e will cost is still unknown, but it certainly won’t be cheap. For reference, let's say that a richly equipped Fiat 600e in the Red configuration costs in Germany from 42,490 euros, a hot hatch Abarth 500e with a 155-horsepower electric motor — from 37,990 euros. We believe that for the Abarth 600e they will ask for at least 45,000 euros, which is quite expensive, but Abarth does not yet plan to go beyond the niche brand for connoisseurs; its task is not to sell many cars, but to make a tangible profit from each one.
