The family of completely “green” models of the American brand will expand due to the long-wheelbase version of the “electric SUV”: it may be called IQL.
The Cadillac brand belongs to the American concern General Motors. The fact that the company is preparing an all-electric SUV — Escalade IQ — became known in the fall of 2021. At the same time, the manufacturer made the official announcement in the spring of 2023, and published the first teasers in June. The full premiere of the “green” SUV took place in August last year. Now information has appeared about the possible expansion of the new family.

According to Car and Driver, citing a Cadillac representative, the Escalade IQ will have a long-wheelbase version. Its dimensions have not yet been officially announced, but presumably this model will be the largest in the brand’s line. It is expected that such an electric vehicle will receive an IQL letter index.
Let us remind you that the current Cadillac Escalade IQ is comparable in size to the long-wheelbase gasoline SUV ESV. Thus, the length of the “electric train” with the increase in IQ is 5697 mm, width – 2167 mm, height – 1934 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3460 mm. For comparison, the length of the current ESV petrol version is 5766 mm, width – 2060 mm, height – 1941 mm, and wheelbase – 3406 mm.
The dimensions of the Cadillac Escalade IQL, as well as other characteristics of the proposed new product, will be announced later. It is expected that the American brand will present another version of the “green” SUV soon, and sales of such a new product may start before the end of the year.
It is likely that the standard and long-wheelbase versions will separate the equipment. Let us remind you that only one “filling” option has been announced for the Escalade IQ so far: we are talking about a dual-engine power plant (one electric motor on each axis). Peak total output of the system is 761 hp, maximum torque is 1064 Nm; constant power – 687 hp (834 Nm).
The capacity of this SUV's floor-integrated traction battery is 200 kW* h. The range on one charge according to the passport exceeds 724 km (when calculated according to the EPA cycle). The Escalade IQ, introduced last summer, takes less than five seconds to accelerate from zero to almost a hundred (up to 96.56 km/h).
Production of the Cadillac Escalade IQ electric SUV will begin this summer at GM Factory Zero, which is located in Detroit. The exact starting price has not yet been made public. The official website of the brand so far indicates that in the USA such an electric car can be purchased for about 130 thousand dollars (equivalent to about 11.88 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Obviously, the Escalade IQL will be more expensive.
