A court has ruled that the party wrongfully sacked Dr Shahrar Ali, who believes “ biology is real.» and unchanged» — as a representative of the party, since it did not reveal any wrongdoing.
The Mayoral and City Circuit Court awarded Dr Ali compensation in the amount of £9,100.
However, the decision was upheld. the right of political parties to dismiss representatives whose views differ from the party's policies.
Dr Ali's case was the first legal action of its kind against a political party.
Addressing the court, he called on the Equality Commission and Human Rights Commission to investigate the Green Party over its handling of the transgender rights debate.

The court rejected other allegations of discrimination and victimization by the Green Party.
The party suspended Dr Ali as a police and internal security spokesman in February 2022 for violating the «code of conduct for representatives party.»
In documents submitted to the court, lawyers representing Dr Ali claim that officials in the Green Party «collaborated» to remove him from office because of his beliefs about gender, including the view that «biology is real.» and is unchangeable.»
The court found Dr Ali's removal was «procedurally unfair» because the Green Party found no breach of the code in his dismissal.
Call for investigation
Judge Hellman said he could not rule out the possibility that this injustice occurred due to Dr. Ali's gender-critical beliefs.
Political parties can remove representatives from office for «beliefs inconsistent with party policy» if this is done through fair procedures, the decision said.
