ST. PETERSBURG, February 12Two children are in serious condition after an accident with a bus in the Pushkinogorsky district of the Pskov region; a total of eight victims have been sent to the children's hospital so far, the regional health committee reported.
As the regional prosecutor's office reported, in the Pushkinogorsky district near the village of Novgorodka a heavy truck and bus with children. According to preliminary data from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the bus driver tried to avoid a collision with a truck and drove into a ditch. Official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk reported that, according to preliminary data, 17 people were injured in the accident, including 13 children.
“Eight children have been hospitalized at the regional children’s hospital, including two “severe” children… Another five are now being examined by doctors. Most likely, four of them will be released,” the agency’s interlocutor said.< br />
He clarified that after the accident, one of the accompanying teachers was also hospitalized.
As the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Pskov Region previously clarified, the bus was traveling from the city of Pustoshki to Pskov for an excursion , there were 23 people in the cabin. Children's age is 15-16 years.
