BARNAUL, February 13 An Altai student who tried to send a parcel of medicines abroad to the militants of the Islamic State organization* was taken into custody, the department’s press service reported FSB on the edge.
It was established that, inspired by the ideology of IS* and the practice of violence, a student at one of the universities in the region established contact with representatives of the organization via the Internet. During a lengthy conversation, the young man expressed his desire to go to Syria and join the ranks of IS*, as well as his readiness to provide any support to terrorists.
«At the end of 2023, at the direction of his interlocutor, he purchased a batch of medical supplies that were part of the first-echelon first-aid kit and were necessary in real combat conditions. Subsequently, he sent a parcel with medications abroad to the address specified by the “curators” in the interests of the international terrorist organization organization,» the FSB said.
The mail was promptly seized by FSB operatives, and a resident of the region born in 2004 was unable to “provide resource assistance” to IS*.
«The Federal Security Service of Russia in the Altai Territory opened a criminal case against a citizen on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1.1 Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted financing of terrorism). He has been charged. At the request of the investigator, the court has chosen a preventive measure against the accused in the form of detention,» the press service notes.
