CHELYABINSK, February 12 A diesel locomotive collided with a freight train in the Chelyabinsk region, there were no injuries, an investigation is underway, the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office reported.
According to Prosecutor's office, when leaving the 7th railway track of the Ural park of the Berdyaush station, the driver of the diesel locomotive ChME-3 N8502 drove to an illegal traffic light signal, and therefore a collision occurred with freight train N 2336.
«As a result of the collision no one was injured. The causes of the incident and the consequences are being established… Based on this fact, the transport prosecutor's office organized an inspection of the implementation of legislation on traffic safety and operation of railway transport,» the message says.
According to the Southern Railway, the incident occurred at 18.48 (16.48 Moscow time) at the Berdyaush station of the South Ural Railway — due to a collision between freight and service trains, 12 empty cars in a freight train derailed. “Recovery trains from the Zlatoust and Asha stations were sent to the scene of the incident. There were no casualties, there is no threat to environmental safety. Train traffic at the Berdyaush station was suspended,” explains South Ural Railway.
As the Central MSUT of the ICR adds, the Central MSUT of the IC of Russia, according to a report about Violations of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport are subject to pre-investigation checks. The actions of responsible persons are verified under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the message explains.
