The refreshed “hot” compacts of the German brand received more powerful “stuffing” and improved acceleration time from zero to “hundreds”.< /p>
Audi has been producing the small A3 model since 1996; the hatchback and sedan of the current fourth generation were presented in the spring of 2020, and their “charged” versions – the Audi S3 and S3 Sportback – debuted in August of the same year. Now the German manufacturer is preparing for the imminent presentation of the restyled version of the S3: official photographs of a camouflaged prototype of the refreshed four- and five-door modifications of the model have been published.

The updated “hot” compacts will have a new front design. Judging by the photos of the brightly camouflaged prototype, the model will receive a revised signature radiator grille with a large mesh pattern. In the updated sedan, the brand logo has risen a little higher and now extends onto the bar, which is located under the edge of the hood. The new product also has a sportier bumper and head optics of the same shape, but with new “filling”.
< p>The rear of the Audi S3 also underwent adjustments during the restyling. Thus, the sedan and hatchback received a new rear bumper, with differently designed reflectors integrated into the lower part. The diffuser became larger, but the developers did not touch the round pipes of the exhaust system (two on each side). The lanterns also retained the same shape, but the light pattern was changed.
There is still little information about the interior of the refreshed Audi S3 and S3 Sportback. Judging by the pictures, the models will have a large virtual instrument panel, as well as a number of physical buttons on the central tunnel. It is expected that a large touch screen of a modern infotainment system will be placed in the center of the front panel.

The company has already talked about what the equipment of the updated sedan and hatchback will be like. They will receive an upgraded petrol 2.0-liter TFSI turbo-four. Now its maximum power is 333 hp and torque is 420 Nm. These figures are 23 hp. and 20 Nm more than the pre-reform versions of the “esoks”. Mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Updated versions of the Audi S3 acceleration from zero to “hundreds” takes 4.7 seconds, while pre-restyling options take 4.8 seconds to do this exercise. The maximum speed of the refreshed “charged” sedan and hatchback is still electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The cars were equipped with a new Dynamic plus driving mode, stiffer wishbones, a revised steering system, a new electronic stability control system and improved brakes: the front ventilated discs have a size of 357 mm, the thickness has increased by 4 mm, two-piston calipers and larger pads are installed.
