MOSCOW, February 16 European volleyball champion in the national team Russia's Evgeniy Sivozhelez, who recently played for the Novy Urengoy Fakel, returned to Zenit, according to the official website of the St. Petersburg club.
The terms of the 37-year-old player's contract with the club have not been specified. Sivozhelez will wear number 23 for Zenit.
The volleyball player played for the St. Petersburg team from 2017 to 2019 and won silver (2018) in the Russian Championship with the club. After that, he spent three years with Kemerovo Kuzbass, and since 2022 he played for Fakel.
Sivozhelez achieved the greatest success in his club career as part of Zenit Kazan, for which he played from 2011 to 2017. Together with the Kazan team, he became a five-time champion of Russia and a three-time winner of the Champions League.
As part of the Russian national team, Sivozhelez won gold at the European Championship in Copenhagen in 2013. In the same year he became the winner of the World League.
