Mauricio Pochettino has warned Chelsea's owners have said they could face even more fury from fans if they try to add the Argentine club to their multi-club stable.
Chelsea head coach » Pochettino also said that he is trying to extend the invitation to the club to the Argentine team. President Javier Miley has said Chelsea want to buy the former defender's first club, Newell's Old Boys, among others in his homeland.
Co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehli have already faced protests from Strasbourg fans after Chelsea. bought a controlling stake in his club last summer.
Saturday's opponents Manchester City were also criticized by fans of Troyes, who are part of the City Football Group's stable of Premier League champions, and Pochettino believes Argentine fans will find it difficult to accept their clubs' inclusion in Chelsea's BlueCo group.
< p>«It's so difficult because Argentina is a country where things are not usually like here, where people come from outside and buy clubs,» Pochettino said. “The fans feel like they belong to the club and the club belongs to them and it’s not easy to change the mentality. Maybe over time yes, but at the moment I don’t believe it will be easy to buy a club there.
“But, of course, the president has new ideas, and he wants to help the country and people live better. This is a difficult situation, but we will support all Argentines and do everything to help the country, Argentina, stay in a better position.”
Revealing Chelsea's interest in investing in the Argentine club, President Miley said: «There is a willingness to invest, which Chelsea has expressed in the case of Boca, Racing, Newell's, Lanus and Estudiantes.»
< p>“I'm a Boca fan and if investment groups come to Boca and invest a fortune, which means Boca always wins and River can't win a single game, the question is: 'Where should I sign?'» Pochettino, who joined Newell's Old Boys as a 14-year-old and spent eight years at the club as a player, added: «I want to invite the president Argentina [to Chelsea]. The other day we had an «Argentina Day» here because we always try to celebrate something and create a nice atmosphere at the training ground. The staff did a great job in the kitchen and dining room.
“Our club photographer Darren took the pictures and now I'm sending them to a friend who is a friend of the president so he can say, 'Look at Chelsea.' If he's ever in London, we want to invite him to come here because he loves football.»
