MOSCOW, February 21 The director of the cartoon “Very Bluebeard” Vladimir Samsonov died at the age of 87, said the editor-in-chief of the Soyuzmultfilm film studio Sergei Kapkov in his Telegram channel.
“»Director Vladimir Samsonov died today. He was one of those who created the design for Soviet television in the 1980s and shot many cross-program animated videos. Moreover, he was the first to use a rare technique — painting on glass…», — wrote Kapkov.
He noted that among Samsonov’s many cartoons, the most popular was the musical “Very Bluebeard” with songs by Gennady Gladkov and Yuliy Kim. They were sung by Mikhail Boyarsky, Oleg Anofriev, Larisa Dolina.
«Vladimir Anatolyevich lived in a holiday village near Ramenskoye, in a tiny wooden house. When I visited him four years ago, he didn’t go anywhere, didn’t even go up to the second floor. He was in great need. For the last twenty years «he was ill and survived an operation to remove a tumor. Our Charitable Foundation for the Support of Animation helped him as much as it could. Fortunately, his relatives did not forget either,» Kapkov concluded.
Vladimir Samsonov was born in Ussuriysk on August 11, 1936. In 1962 he graduated from the Moscow Art School in Memory of 1905. In 1968, Samsonov graduated from VGIK and shot his first works at Soyuzmultfilm, in particular “Old Toy”, “In the Thirtieth Century” and “Jack and I”.
